In July and August 2018, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia carried out wide range of operations in order to detect and expose illegally operating sawmills, illegal obtainers of lumber and merchants selling lumber by means of forged documents.

Investigation service actively continues carrying out activities in order to expose possible crime committed during the process of implementation of infrastructural projects throughout Georgia.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed four facts of storing and transportation of large amount of goods subject to marking, without excise marks.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out during the period of the current year, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed 36 facts of violation of state procurement rules and usage of forged documents for tenders by the entrepreneurs.

Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, imposed criminal liability on three persons on the fact of storing and selling forged money.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, together with the representatives of Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, arrested two persons on two facts of storing, transporting and sale of especially large amount of cigarettes subject to marking, without excise marks.
