Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, imposed criminal liability on three persons on the fact of storing and selling forged money.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, together with the representatives of Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, arrested two persons on two facts of storing, transporting and sale of especially large amount of cigarettes subject to marking, without excise marks.

On September 10-13, the 23rd traditional annual Task Group Cigarette Conference was held in Sofia, capital of Republic of Bulgaria, organized by European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). Head of Tbilisi Main Division of the Investigation Department of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Mr. George Elgandashvili took part in a conference.

Minister of Finance of Georgia Mr. Ivane Machavariani, together with the Head of Investigation Service Mr. Levan Gamkrelidze met the heads of regional divisions of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia continues intensive activities in order to detect facts of illegal obtaining of credits and expose persons that commit such crimes.
