Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia continues active investigative activities in order to expose pharmacies without the relevant permit and in violation of permit conditions. As a result of complex measures conducted in Tbilisi and in the regions of Samegrelo, Shida Kartli and Kakheti in June-August of the current year, 18 pharmacies operating in violation of the law were exposed.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal prosecution was initiated against one person on the facts of purchase and sale of a large amount of goods obtained illegally, manufacturing and using forged tax documents, intentional evasion of taxes in particularly large quantities and legalization of illegal income. 

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the representatives of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, two persons were brought to the criminal liability for the sale of products dangerous to human health and for transporting a particularly large amount of undeclared movable goods to the customs border of Georgia by entering false data in the customs declaration, as a group. 

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out throughout Georgia, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, during the month of July of 2023, exposed 20 facts of storage, transportation and sale of large amount of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks and brought to the criminal liability 19  persons, 5 of which were detained. 

Investigation Service hosted experts from the company Chainalysis (Mahmoud El Sadi Essa and Shailendra Sadh) as part of a 2-day training session organized for investigators and analytical staff. The company provides services to governmental, virtual asset service providers and financial institutions in more than 70 countries, as well as providing customized software tailored directly to them.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal prosecution was initiated against 5 persons, one of whom is a former official, on the fact of misappropriation of large amount of state property by deceit by manufacturing and using forged official documents and neglect of official duty.
