As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out throughout Georgia, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, during the month of August of 2023, exposed 19 facts of storage, transportation and sale of large amount of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks and brought to the criminal liability 12 persons, 3 of which were detained.

With the support of the European Union-funded project - "Support to Public Administration Reform in Georgia" (PAR), an introductory online meeting was held between the representatives of Investigation Service and the Secretariat of the Balkan Asset Management Interagency Network (BAMIN). Attention was focused on the importance of international cooperation in the field of management of frozen assets and the need to share the best practices gained in this regard amongst the relevant law enforcement agencies of different countries.

Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia continues active investigative activities in order to expose pharmacies without the relevant permit and in violation of permit conditions. As a result of complex measures conducted in Tbilisi and in the regions of Samegrelo, Shida Kartli and Kakheti in June-August of the current year, 18 pharmacies operating in violation of the law were exposed.
