With the support of the European Union-funded project - "Support to Public Administration Reform in Georgia" (PAR), an introductory online meeting was held between the representatives of Investigation Service and the Secretariat of the Balkan Asset Management Interagency Network (BAMIN). Attention was focused on the importance of international cooperation in the field of management of frozen assets and the need to share the best practices gained in this regard amongst the relevant law enforcement agencies of different countries.
Membership of the BAMIN Network is comprised of government agencies from eight Western Balkan countries and other observer/associate agencies from different states, responsible for the management and disposal of assets seized from criminals. In 2014, the BAMIN network was created with the participation of six countries, and today the number of their members, observer and associate member states has reached 20.
The parties confirmed their readiness for professional cooperation in the field of management of freezed assets and agreed upon future priority directions.
