As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal liability was imposed on twelve persons on the fact of misappropriation of large quantity of state land plots, with prior agreement by group of people, by means of forged documents.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was exposed on the fact of bribery.

Under the mutual project - Container Control Program (CCP) of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and World Customs Organization (WCO) –regular meeting of Managing Board was held in the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Main topic of the meeting was discussion of the progress of the Program, results achieved and future plans. Meeting was managed by coordinator of the Black Sea region at UNODC – Dr. Naida Chamilova.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the employees of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, heads of four enterprises were arrested on the fact of violation of the procedure for participating in public procurements.

On April 17-18th, the training on the challenges for financial crime investigation and cryptocurrency was held for the representatives of law enforcement agencies. The training, organized by Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, was led by an expert of the Internal Revenue Service of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, James Daniels.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia five facts of preparing and selling forged tax documents were exposed and heads of five companies were arrested.
