Delegation of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia lead by Head of Investigation Service – Mr. Soso Ramishvili had a working visit in the Republic of Lithuania. Representatives of Investigation Service had meeting with Mr. Rustamas Liubajevas - Chief Adviser of the Ministry of the Interior, Mr. Antoni Mikulskis - Director of Financial Crime Investigation Service and other officials. Mr. Levan Gvachliani - Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Georgia to Lithuania, also attended the meeting.

As a result of investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia with the coordination of the Revenue Service exposed four facts of storage and transportation alcoholic drinks without excise marks in especially large quantities.

As a result of investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia with the coordination of the Revenue Service exposed eight facts of storage and transportation excisable goods without excise marks in a large quantities.

Delegation of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland visited the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Deputy Heads of the Investigation Service, Vakhtang Paresishvili and Vaja Panozishvili, and other officials of the Service met with the delegation members. The delegation was led by Stephanie Joyce, Fiscal Crime Liaison Officer of HM Revenue and Customs of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. Meeting was also attended the Regional Director of the International Intelligence and Operations Department at the National Crime Agency ,Graham Hancock and Amanda Hickman, the International Relations Officer at the same department with political secretary of the British Embassy, Sophie Stewart.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of manufacturing and using of forged tax documents by group of people.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, exposed two facts of misappropriation of large quantity of state owned property by means of manufacturing and using of the forged official documents. Criminal liability was imposed on eight persons, two of which were detained as initiators of the above mentioned criminal activities.
