As a result of the operative-searching and investigative activities the representatives of the Investigation Service of The Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained one person on an attempt of obtaining another person’s large amount of money by deceit.

The investigation found that, having gained the confidence of a certain person, the accused convinced him that in exchange for payment of the appropriate amount of money and with the cooperation of the employees of the municipality of Shida Kartli, he would have managed to help him put the desired land registered on the balance sheet of the municipality to the local electronic auction.

With the above-mentioned fraudulent intent, the accused demanded and seized $7000 from the citizen and was arrested in the process of receiving the money.

The investigation is under way under the third part of the article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
