Delegation of Financial Investigation Department of State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus visited Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Head of Investigation Service, Mr. Soso Ramishvili, together with high level officials of Investigation Service had a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee - Director of the Financial Investigation Department Mr. Igor Marshalov, and representatives of the same authority – Mr. Dimitri Diagilev and Viktor Bogomazov.
Georgian colleagues hosted the delegation of the Republic of Belarus within the frames of Memorandum of Understanding. Memorandum includes - sharing experience between law enforcement authorities of two countries in the direction of exposing, suppressing and investigating crime committed in financial-economic field.
During the working meeting, parties shared each other - practical issues of exposing the crime. They also discussed methodology of carrying out prevention activities during the process of exposing and suppressing crime, schemes of tax evasion, exposing crime in the field of state procurement, suppressing illegal turnover of goods subject to marking, use of information technologies in operative-searching activities.
“The aim of working visit of our Belarusian colleagues to Investigation Service is deepening of cooperation between two countries in the field of combating financial-economic crime, as well as sharing and implementing best practice. We also had a conversation about effective activities towards protecting economic security of the country”- Head of Investigation Service, Mr. Soso Ramishvili stated.
“I would like to underline about the high standard of cooperation, which we have with Investigation Service. We cooperate within the frames of Memorandum of Understanding signed between the parties. This is not our first meeting. Today we discussed topics that are subject of future cooperation. We are interested in prevention activities that Investigation Service is carrying out” – Mr. Igor Marshalov noted.
Colleagues discussed specific directions of future cooperation. After the meeting, representatives of Investigation Service showed training facilities and building of Special Detachment Unit to the guests.
