As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained two persons on the facts of bribery and participation in bribe taking.

Investigation determined that the accused person, forest guard of one of the districts of LEPL National Forestry Agency of Shida Kartli region, in order to receive illegal income, asked and took GEL 4000 from a citizen, in return for digging out green plants growing on the territory he was acting, by means of abusing official authority. This was when he and his co-participant in above mentioned criminal activity were detained.

Investigation is underway under first part of article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
