As a result of investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, on the facts of embezzlement of large amounts of funds belonging to citizens and concealment of large amounts of property, 3 heads of the company has been accused and brought to the criminal liability.
Investigation determined, that the accused persons, whose field of business activity was buying and selling cars, received from the citizens a total of GEL 568 120, with which they were supposed to buy cars and bring them to Georgia. Instead of the mentioned, the funds received by the accused were embezzled and spent aimlessly. At the same time, in order to avoid existing and expected obligations to the citizens, the accused, with a sham transaction, hid a large amount of property owned by the company, having value about GEL 740 000, so that the victims did not have the opportunity to claim damages.
Investigation is underway under the Articles 182 and 2051 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 11 years.
