As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed one person on the fact of illegal use of trademark.

The investigation revealed that with an intention to facilitate the sale of goods, a founder and a director of a particular company marked low-quality, non-branded car stereos under “SONY” trademark and sold them at a market place, in the region of Imereti.

As a result of investigative activities, 39 pieces of counterfeited devices were seized.

Investigation is underway under first part of article 196 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment up to two years.
