As a result of the operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, the employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia brought to criminal liability one person on the fact of fraudulent misappropriation of a large amount of state funds by manufacturing and using forged documents. 

Investigation determined that in order to fraudulently obtain the monetary assistance provided for the citizens on maternity leave, the accused, in 2021-2022, entered into criminal transactions with pregnant women, through the preconceived scheme and fictitiously appointed them in the enterprises under his management, later manufactured forged documents, as if 237 persons employed in the enterprises allegedly received from the state budget one-time monetary assistance for pregnant women in the amount of GEL 237 000. The mentioned amount was divided between the accused and the pregnant women.

The relevant investigative measures are being carried out in order to identify and expose other persons involved in abovementioned crime.

Investigation is underway under the Articles 210 and 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
