As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out in coordination with the General Inspection of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained the Inspector of Special Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia on the fact of an attempt to commit fraud – taking property of another person by deceit for its unlawful appropriation.

Investigation revealed that with intention to take property of another person by deceit, the accused earned trust of a citizen and convinced the later, that in exchange for USD 1 500, he could assist him in employment at the Penitentiary Service.

The accused person was detained on the fact of taking the requested sum – USD 1 500.
Investigation is underway under the article 19, and the second part of article 180 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
