The delegation of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, led by the head of the Service - Soso Ramishvili, holds official meetings with the heads of the Financial Investigation Department of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus.During the visit, parties will discuss important issues such as detection of crime in the financial-economic field, conduction of relevant investigation, suppression and prevention of such offences.
The main topics of discussion for Georgian and Belarusian law enforcement officers are the methodology of investigation of crimes in the financial-economic field and various categories of such crimes: tax evasion, unreasonable VAT refund and illicit turnover of excisable goods.The parties intend to cooperate towards improvement and enhancement of analytical activities, as well as to deepen bilateral cooperation in the financial-economic field, to seek mutually beneficial ways for effective exchange of information and for addressing actual and current problems.
According to the statement of Soso Ramishvili, the head of the delegation - "Deepening existing bilateral cooperation between the authorities, enhancing operational and analytical activities will facilitate effective fight against financial-economic crimes in Georgia and Belarus, detection and suppression of such crimes, as well as prevention and investigation."
