Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained one person on the fact of storage and transportation of large amount of non-excised tobacco.

As a result of the investigative activities, in Samtskhe-Javakheti region, 1 548 packs of different brands of tobacco without Georgian excise marks, intended for sale, were seized. Total market value of seized goods exceeds GEL 6 600.

Vehicle used to transport non-excised tobacco was also seized during the investigation.

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
