As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, exposed two facts of storage and transportation of large amount of non-excised tobacco, as a group, on which 3 persons have been detained.

As a result of investigative activities, in Samegrelo region 10 338 packs of different types of non-excised tobacco intended for sale, and in Tbilisi - 1 477 packs of non-excised tobacco were seized. Total market value of seized goods exceeds GEL 50 000.

Vehicles used to transport non-excised tobacco were also seized during the investigation.

Investigation is underway under the second and third parts of Article 200 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
