With the financial support of the Organization for Security and Cooperation of Europe and the Embassy of Switzerland in Georgia, under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice, during the period of November 20-24, 2023, at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, was held a simulation training under the name - "Combating human trafficking: sustainability of inter-agency cooperation through implementation of national simulation training". The simulation training was implemented with the close cooperation and participation of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, the Prosecutor's Office, the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, LEPL- Labour Inspection Office, LEPL - The State Fund for Protection and Assistance of (statutory) Victims of Human Trafficking and non-governmental organizations in Georgia.
While giving the speech, Levan Dzneladze, head of the Investigation Department of the Investigation Service, spoke about the importance of conducting the training, noting that the training was aimed at deepening inter-agency cooperation in the direction of combating this type of crime, including deepening practical skills for the investigators of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. According to Levan Dzneladze, inter-agency coordination and exchange of necessary information, as well as sharing of international experience for the purpose of finding/confiscating criminally obtained assets, are important in the direction of effectively conducting the investigation during the fight against the mentioned transnational crime.
At the closing ceremony of the training, experts of the EU member states and the OSCE shared with the training participants their experiences, visions and remarks regarding the activities carried out within the framework of the training, including the conducting parallel financial investigation of crime.
