William Tompson, Director of the Eurasia Division of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Daniel Quadbeck, a project manager of the International Cooperation Secretariat, visited the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia. Together with the representatives of the Investigation Service, Deputy Head of the Service, Vakhtang Paresishvili held a meet with the guests.
The parties discussed the activities and goals of the organization and noted that in cooperation with the Investigation Service, the organization tends to provide trainings and learning programs.
William Tompson and Daniel Quadbeck suggested to the representatives of the authority to engage Investigation Service in upcoming events and trainings, which will involve participant countries from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the South Caucasus. It was noted at the meeting that the priority of the OECD is to establish “Eurasia Academy” in the region, which will facilitate retraining of qualified staff and sharing of the best practices in the field of fighting against financial-economic crimes.
Representatives of the Investigation Service and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development agreed specific directions for cooperation and implementation of future plans.
