PROFESSIONAL DAY OF THE INVESTIGATION SERVICE

Employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia celebrated their professional day. The event dedicated to the professional day of the Investigation Service was opened by the Minister of Finance of Georgia - Lasha Khutsishvili, who congratulated the employees of the Investigation Service, positively assessed the last year activities of the Agency and thanked the staff for the work done.

“I would like to especially mention the smooth work of the Investigation Service in combating financial-economic crimes during the pandemic. In 2021 only, GEL 109 340 627 was mobilized in favor of the state budget, which is a record for the entire period of operation of the Service. This would have been impossible without the professionalism and mobilization of the employees of the Investigation Service.” – said the Minister of Finance.

In his speech, Lasha Khutsishvili spoke about the important role of the Investigation Service in the prevention, detection and suppression of financial and economic crimes. “I welcome the active coordination of the Investigation Service with US and EU Partners in combating Transnational Crime”- mentioned the Minister.

Head of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia – Soso Ramishvili, while presenting the Annual Report of the Investigation Service to the guests of the event, focused on the selfless work of the employees, which led to a record amount of funds mobilized for the state budget in 2021.

The Head of the Investigation Service thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia and the Minister of Finance of Georgia for their support and noted that “the Agency continues to work actively to maintain a competitive business environment and detect crimes committed in the financial and economic field”.

According to Soso Ramishvili, “the progress of the Service is conditioned by the internal policy, which is based on the qualification of the employees, their continuous professional development and many years of experience. A clear example of this is the active involvement of staff in online local or international trainings, seminars, forums and conferences in 2021. The Agency, at the professional level, provides investigative, operational-investigative, analytical activities and proper risk assessment. All this contributes to the timely detection of crimes and an effectiveness of the investigation.”

While congratulating the employees on their professional day, the Deputy Head of the Investigation Service - Vaja Panozishvili, emphasized the importance of motivation of the personnel. According to him, “the fight against financial and economic crime is not only a function defined by the Constitution and legislation for each employee of the Investigation Service, but also a conscious choice - to contribute to the promotion of a healthy business environment. This principled choice leads to a dynamic increase in the efficiency of our Agency and the belief that in 2022, the Investigation Service will maintain this tendency.”
