Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed ten persons on the fact of misappropriation of the state property by deceit, as a group, using forged official documents.

Investigation determined that, the head of the company operating in Shida Kartli, by prior agreement with the employee of the company, submitted zero income tax returns to the Revenue Service, according to which, due to the regulations during the pandemic period, employees of the enterprise did not carry out their work activities and therefore, demanded compensations of GEL 200, according to the relevant Ordinance of the Government of Georgia.

It has been established, that the persons employed in the mentioned enterprise continued their work activities as usual and in order to obtain illegal material benefits, in the form of compensation, they fraudulently misappropriated state-owned funds.

Investigation is underway under the second parts of articles 180 and 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
