As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal liability was imposed on three persons on the facts of misappropriation of large quantity of state property and preparing and using of forged documents, during the process of infrastructural project implementation.

Investigation determined that in 2016-2017, the accused person, head of one of the construction companies, carried out two infrastructural projects, ordered by Tsalka municipality. During the process of their implementation, in order to receive illegal income, he artificially increased the parameters of the materials, quality index and volume of works completed, shown in documentation. As a result of the above mentioned activities, the accused person illegally received large quantity of state property.

Investigation has also established that works fulfilled by the above mentioned company were inspected by the experts of private accredited expertise company, who issued a positive conclusion, without comparing actual volume of works completed with the volume of works shown in the documentation.

Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 180 and the second part of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
