INVESTIGATION SERVICE OF MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF GEORGIA IMPOSED CRIMINAL LIABILITY ON FOURTEEN PERSONS ON THE FACT OF MISAPPROPRIATION OF LARGE QUANTITY OF STATE PROPERTY

INVESTIGATION SERVICE OF MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF GEORGIA IMPOSED CRIMINAL LIABILITY ON FOURTEEN PERSONS ON THE FACT OF MISAPPROPRIATION OF LARGE QUANTITY OF STATE PROPERTY

As a result of intensive investigative activities took place for several months, representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia has imposed criminal liability on fourteen persons on the fact of misappropriation of large quantity of state property using forged documents, with a prior agreement by a group of people. 

 

 Investigation has determined that the accused persons have issued forged acts of delivery and acceptance dated within the period of 1997-1998 according to which they received the lands form the State.  Using those forged documents the accused persons have registered in their ownership land plots  in villages Natakhtari, Saguramo and Dighomi total of 45 650 square meters.Market value of the illegally registered property is approximately GEL 1 000 000.

       

On this stage the activities of returning the property to state ownership foreseen by law are in process as well as exposing other people related to those criminal activities mentioned above.

 

Investigation is underway under the second part of article 362 and third part of article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
