INVESTIGATION SERVICE OF MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF GEORGIA BROUGHT TO CRIMINAL LIABILITY ONE PERSON ON THE FACT OF SMUGGLING A PARTICULARLY LARGE AMOUNT OF PRECIOUS METAL PRODUCTS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with the representatives of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, brought to criminal liability one person on the fact of moving large quantities of undeclared precious metal products across the customs border of Georgia. 

Investigation determined that a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, through the customs checkpoint "Sadakhlo motorway", from Armenia to Georgia, smuggled 631 grams of palladium products worth of GEL 110,027 by circumventing customs control.

Goods imported in violation of customs rules were confiscated in favor of the state on the basis of the relevant conviction of the court.
