INVESTIGATION SERVICE IMPOSED CRIMINAL LIABILITY ON TWO PERSONS OF THE FACT OF UNLAWFUL USE OF ANOTHER PERSON’S TRADE MARK

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia imposed criminal liability on two persons, on fact of putting large quantity of goods into civil turnover, under another person’s trade mark, by group of people, with prior agreement.

 

Investigation determined that in Tbilisi, the accused persons, were illegally using trade mark of car engine oil producer company “Mobile” and were selling cheap, low quality engine oil under the above mentioned brand name.

 

800 liters of car engine oil, packed in different size vessels, illegally marked under another person’s trade mark, were seized as a result of investigative activities.

 

Investigation is underway under third part of Article 196 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
