As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal liability was imposed on two heads of one of the companies and a former employee of Dmanisi municipality government, on facts of deceitful misappropriation of large quantity of state property.

Investigation determined that, the above mentioned company won the tender organized by Dmanisi municipality, according to tender documentation, company had to carry out repairment-rehabilitation works of four objects, with total value of GEL 546 882.

The accused persons, in order to receive illegal income, disregarding terms of the contract, carried out works with lower quality than requested. Besides this, in documentation, they artificially expanded volumes of works fulfilled. As a result of the above mentioned actions, persons exposed in crime illegally received GEL 143 451.

Investigation also determined that, representative of Dmanisi municipality government who had the obligation to supervise above mentioned works, didn’t perform appropriate control on the works fulfilled, this helped the accused persons to receive state money in a deceitfull manner. 

Investigation is underway, under the third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
