As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, on the fact of negligence, criminal liability was imposed on three persons.

Investigation has determined that during the implemented infrastructural project in the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, the employees of the City Hall of Akhaltsikhe Municipality improperly carried out their official functions – they did not perform proper control and inspection of implemented works. As a result, the contractor company artificially increased the amount of implemented works, it used materials of a lower quality – finally causing illegal possession of the state budget funds.

Investigation is underway under the first part of article 342 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment up to 3 years.
