As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, five persons were exposed and arrested on three facts of missapropriation of large amount of money.

Investigation has determined that in one case the accused persons have earned trust of internally displaced person from occupied territories of Georgia and deceptively assured him that if he paid specified amount of money, he would get the ownership of living space destined for refugees with the help or the employee of Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees  of Georgia.

In other two cases the accused persons promised internally displaced persons from occupied territories of Georgia assistance in getting free apartments given by the state, without the queue.

As a result of fraudulent actions the accused persons received USD 14 100.

Investigation is underway under second and third parts of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
