As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person has been brought to the criminal liability on the fact of unlawful use of other person’s trademark in large quantities.
Investigation determined that the accused person in order to obtain illegal material benefits, was selling low-quality and cheap detergents from shops in Tbilisi and Rustavi, by misusing the trademarks “Ariel”, “Perwoll”, “Fairy”, “Alo”, “Domestos” and “Persil”.
As a result of investigative activities, 16 982 liters and 5 457 kg of illegally branded products with total value of GEL 78 023 were seized.
Investigation is underway under the first part of the Article 196 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment up to 2 years.
Appropriate measures are being carried out in order to identify and expose other persons who committed the above-mentioned crime.
