INVESTIGATION SERVICE EXPOSED FOUR FACTS OF STORING AND TRANSPORTATION OF TOBBACCO PRODUCTS WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in coordination with representatives of the Revenue Service of Georgia, exposed four facts of storing and transportation of large quantity of products subject to marking, without excise marks.

 

Investigation determined that in Tbilisi and Kakheti Region, persons exposed in crime were storing and transporting 3 451 packs of “HEETS” brand cigarettes, used for so called IQOS- electronic cigarettes, with the purpose of selling above mentioned products afterwards.

 

Total market value of tobacco products without excise marks, seized as a result of investigative activities estimates than GEL 18 000.

 

Investigation is underway under the first and second parts of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
