As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, exposed four facts of falsification of fish products. 

Investigation determined that in Tbilisi and Kvemo Kartli region, falsified fish products, so called: smoked „Moiva”, smoked „Stavrida” and smoked „Skumbria” were produced in four artisan made enterprises owned by different companies.

As a result of investigative activities, large quantity of different type of smoked fish products, prepared for selling, were seized. On this stage, corresponding expertize of the seized products is in process. 

Investigation is underway under first part of Article 197 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 1 to 3 years.
