Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed two facts of tax evasion committed in particularly large quantities.

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities heads of two companies have been brought to the criminal liability.

Investigation determined that the heads of the companies, operating in Kvemo Kartli region, by violating tax legislation, were systematically, incorrectly declaring income and were not properly taxed. Therefore, they avoided paying particularly large amount of taxes. 
As a result of tax audits, in the first case, GEL 514 835 was incurred to the taxpayer in favor of the state budget (including the basic tax of GEL 317 394) and in the second case - GEL 298 465 (including the basic tax of GEL 196 785). Relevant investigative measures are being carried out after seizing the property belonging to the companies and completing procedures provided by the law, in order to forcefully seize the damage in favor of the state budget.

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 218 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 8 years.
