INVESTIGATION SERVICE EXPOSED FACTS OF STORING AND TRANSPORTATION OF CIGARETTES WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia in coordination with the representatives of Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, exposed two facts of storing and transportation of cigarettes without excise marks.


Investigation determined that in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, persons exposed in crime, were transporting 2070 packs of different types of cigarettes without excise marks, for the purpose of future realization.


Total market value of cigarettes, seized as a result of investigative activities exceeds GEL 5 000.


Investigation is underway under the first part of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 2 to 4 years.
