As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia initiated criminal prosecution against three persons on the fact of misappropriation of state property, manufacturing and using forged documents, bribe-taking and forgery by an official.

Investigation determined that, the accused person, former governor of one of the municipalities of Samtskhe-Javakheti region, in order to receive personal property benefits, issued false certificates to the citizens in two cases, on the basis of which the latter fraudulently registered on their names land plots in the territory of the central park and the former machine-building factory in Ninotsminda, with a total area of 712 square meters, total market value of which estimates GEL 39 000 approximately.

During the investigation, one of the fraudulently appropriated land plots was returned to state ownership, while another land plot is seized at this stage. 

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 338, Article 341, second parts of Articles 180 and 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
