Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia brought to the criminal liability one person on the fact of breach of procedure related to the movement of goods across the customs border of Georgia. 

Investigation determined that the accused person, who was transporting light vehicles in the direction of Azerbaijan with the evacuator at his disposal, in order to receive additional illegal material benefits, secretly placed undeclared goods in the vehicles and tried to cross customs checkpoint “Tsiteli Khidi”.

As a result of the investigative activities various undeclared goods were seized, customs value of which exceeds GEL15 000.

Investigations is underway under the first part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
