As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, through the coordinated activities with the representatives of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service, exposed a fact of moving particularly large amount of precious metal jewelry products to the customs border of Georgia in violation of customs regulations.
Investigation determined that a citizen of the Georgia, through the customs checkpoint "Sarpi", hidden from the customs control, from the Republic of Turkey to Georgia brought 374,62 grams of gold jewelry products having value of GEL 35 094,4.
Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
