Investigation Service exposed 8 facts of storing and transportation of tobacco products without excise marks in large quantities and detained 6 persons

As a result of activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service, in coordination with representatives of Revenue Service, exposed 8 facts of storing and transportation of especially large quantity of goods subject to marking, without excise marks and detained six persons.

 

As a result of investigative activities, in Samegrelo, Shida Kartli, Imereti  and Kvemo Kartli regions, different types of cigarettes without excise marks, designated for sales, were seized from persons exposed in the crime, totally 11 100 packs.

 

Total market value of those seized products exceeds GEL 41 000.

 

Investigation is underway under the first and second parts of article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
