INVESTIGATION SERVICE EXPOSED 22 FACTS OF STORAGE, SALE AND TRANSPORTATION OF CIGARETTES WITHOUT EXCISE MARKS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out in November through Georgia by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, 22 facts of storage, sale and transportation of excisable goods without excise marks in large quantities were exposed, criminal liability on which was brought to 26 persons.  

During the investigation total of 89 033 boxes of various non-excised cigarettes intended for sale were seized from the persons exposed in crime, with a total market value of more than GEL 400000.

Investigation is underway under the second and third parts of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
