As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained two Turkish citizens on the fact of selling particularly large amount of counterfeited excise marks as a group.
Investigation determined that accused persons, in Tbilisi, in exchange for USD 25000 sold 86 373 counterfeited excise marks for tobacco products, and were arrested during the process.
Investigation is underway under the second part, paragraph “b” and forth part, paragraph “a” of Article 2001 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 9 to 12 years.
