As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained three persons on the fact of unlawful usage of another person’s trademark in large quantities, prior agreement as a group.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, in order to receive illegal material benefits, in Kvemo Kartli region, in the residential houses, had set up artificial work space, where they were packaging cheap washing powders by illegally using trademarks of branded detergents “PERSIL”, “ARIEL”, “ABC”, “TIDE”, “BINGO”, “OMO”, “AMO” and “SAVEX”.

As a result of investigative activities, a total of 1 386 packages of various sizes of counterfeit washing powders, prepared for sale, were seized, the market value of which exceeds GEL 44 000.

Investigation is underway under the third part of Article 196 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
