As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of selling forged money.
Investigation determined that the accused person, in order to receive illegal material benefit, was systematically selling forged 20 GEL banknotes in different trade facilities located in Tbilisi.
Investigation determined that the accused, in about 50 cases, sold 185 units of forged 20 GEL banknotes having value of GEL 3 700.
Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
Relevant investigative activities are being carried out in order to identify and expose other persons involved in this crime.
