As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained Russian citizen on the fact of misappropriation of large amount of someone’s property by deceit and manufacturing and using forged document certifying authority on the property.

Investigation determined that the accused person, with the help of other individuals, in order to misappropriate two land plots of 47 800 square meters belonging to one of the companies located in Tbilisi, falsified the share purchase agreement of the mentioned company, on the basis of which he became its sole director and founder, later he transferred the land plots to another company registered on his name.

After he executed the criminal intent, the accused planned to mortgage the land plots to obtain up to USD 200 000, during which he was arrested.

During the investigation, the land plots were seized.

According to the preliminary data, the market value of the land plots exceeds GEL 16 000 000.

Investigation is underway under the third part of the Article 180 and first part of Article 210 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years. 

Relevant investigative measures are being continued in order to identify and expose other persons involved in the crime.
