As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained four persons on the fact of commercial bribery.
Investigation determined that the accused persons were systematically selling unsuitable and expired meat products and pastry, intended for destruction, produced by various Georgian and foreign companies and removed from network trading markets, in exchange for which they were receiving certain amounts of money.
As a result of the investigative activities carried out on the case, 1 105 kg of expired meat products of various names and 1 115 kg of expired pastry, has been seized from the house of a one of the private persons.
According to the conclusions of the forensic examination and the evidence obtained on the case, these products pose a threat to human life and health.
Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 198, Article 220 and fourth part of Article 221 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
