As a result of operative searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia exposed four facts of storing, transportation and selling of large quantity of goods subject to marking, without excise marks, and arrested three persons.

As a result of investigative activities, it was determined that, in three cases the accused persons were transporting different type of cigarettes without excise marks, in total 4360 packs,  in Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti region, for the purpose of sale. Fourth case was exposed in Kvemo Kartli region, where 2500 packs of cigarettes without excise marks, prepared for sale, were seized.

Total market value of cigarettes seized as a result of investigative activities estimates GEL 18 000.

Investigation is underway under second part of Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
