As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was arrested on violation of rules of transportation of goods across the customs border.

Investigation has determined that the accused person illegally imported 129 units of pneumatic pistols from the territory of Republic of Turkey to Georgia, through customs checkpoint “Sarpi”, using secret compartments, specially arranged in a car that was driving by him.

Investigation is underway under the first part of article 214 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 3 to 5 years.
