Investigation Service Accused Two Persons on the Fact of Manufacturing and Using Forged Tax Documents

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, accused and brought to the criminal liability two persons on the fact of manufacturing and using forged tax and other official document and damaging large amount of state property by deceit.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, in order to receive illegal material benefit and create VAT counterfeit assets, on behalf of companies under their factual management, issued false tax invoices worth GEL 3 428 000, thus created counterfeit assets in the amount of GEL 522 915 to their own companies, which were later used to cover the companies' budget liabilities and taxes on imported products.

Investigation is being continued under the third part of Article 185, first part of Article 210 and second part of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 6 years.
