As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, accused and brought to the criminal liability one person on the fact of unlawful usage of another person’s trademark in large quantities.

Investigation determined that the accused person, in order to receive illegal material benefits, by unlawfully using trademark of “TOYOTA”, was packing low-quality car engine spark plugs in “TOYOTA” cardboard boxes, which were later sold from the auto parts trading facility, located in Tbilisi, owned by him.

As a result of investigative activities, totally 611 units of spark plugs, illegally marked with the “TOYOTA” trademark, were seized.

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 196 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment up to 2 years.
