As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained 11 persons on the fact of aiding misappropriation of large amount of state property by deceit.

Investigation determined that with the help of the accused, members of an organized crime group, fraudulently registered 11 land plots located in Avshniani settlement, Gldani district of Tbilisi Municipality, total area of 10 756 square meters, owned by the State, total market value of which estimates GEL 702 183. At this stage, 1000 square meters of land, having value GEL 53 758, was returned to the State ownership.

Investigation is underway under the article 25 and third part, paragraph “b” of article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years. 

Relevant investigative measures are being continued in order to identify and expose other persons involved in the crime.
