Deputy Head of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia has attended the Seminar in Brussel

Deputy Head of Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Mr. Iga Zaalishvili and Head of Tbilisi Main Division of Investigation Department of Investigation Service, Mr. Giorgi Elgandashvili participated in TAIEX Regional Workshop for the Eastern Partnership Countries „Best Practices of Asset Recovery Offices (ARO) in the European Union. Tracing and Identifying Criminal Assets“. The event took place on 13-14 November 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.


Issues on fighting corruption and financial crime were reviewed on the seminar.  Participants have discussed the procedures of assets recovery, systems of confiscation and also the best practices of management of seized assets. Attention was directed on importance of implementation of modern methodologies and instruments for financial investigation.


The event has been organized by the European Commission’s DG Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations within the framework of the TAIEX Instrument in co-operation with: DG HOME, the Belgian Central Office for Seizure and Confiscation (COSC) and Management Office of Confiscated Criminal Assets (Fin Shop).
