As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was detained for an attempt to misappropriate property of another person.

Investigation revealed that the defendant contacted a citizen on Iran, earned confidence of that person and convinced that he could assist him in obtaining Georgian ID card and Georgian Passport, for which demanded USD 7000. The accused was detained on the fact of taking part of the requested amount - GEL 440.

The investigation is underway under the second part of the article 19-180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
